Eisenschmid: "We want to improve from third to third"
With the Swiss, a real yardstick awaits the Red Bulls right at the beginning. "I expect a tough game. But of course we play to win," said newcomer Markus Eisenschmid in the run-up. The former Mannheim man will wear the Munich jersey for the first time on Saturday after his move to Oberwiesenfeld.
"We just want to focus on ourselves and keep improving from third to third," he explained. "Above all, we want to implement the things that we have already addressed and trained tactically," added our new number 11. Last season, Eisenschmid scored 18 goals and 16 assists in the DEL.

Toni Söderholm about to make his coaching debut
Our coach is also about to make his debut. Söderholm will make his debut as head coach on the bench of the German champions against Zug. "We are going step by step. But we need pictures of us now to see how our game already looks," said the 45-year-old.
Accordingly, the practice sessions in the near future. "So we can set the main focus for the coming weeks in training, especially in preparation for the Red Bulls Salute," the Finn already looked ahead.
Red Bulls Salute to kick off the new season
The international invitational tournament on August 26 and 27 in Zell am See-Kaprun will ring in the new season with a real spectacle. This time, besides our guys and EC Red Bull Salzburg, Helsinki IFK and Zurich Schlittschuh Club Lions will fight for the title. The game will be played according to CHL rules in the KE Kelit Arena.
Double semi-final exit for EVZ
EV Zug can look back on a strong last season. After finishing sixth in the main round of the Swiss National League (NL), coach Dan Tangnes' team marched all the way to the playoff semifinals. In the quarterfinals, the team beat the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 4-2 in the best-of-seven series before losing 4-1 to eventual champion Genève-Servette HC in the last four.
The team also made it to the semifinals on the international stage. There, Tappara Tampere was waiting for the EVZ. The Finnish top team kept the upper hand in both duels (2:0 and 3:2) and finally won the Champions League. In the round of 16, the EVZ had previously beaten the Red Bulls, who are now eager for revenge.

EVZ with test match win against Salzburg
In terms of personnel, the Swiss team has made some changes in the summer. Among other things, our new defender Adam Almquist moved to Munich after 18 games for the EVZ (eleven scorer points). The loss of top defender Christian Djoos (39 points), who will play for Lausanne HC in the future, must also be compensated. Lukas Bengtsson (13 goals, 26 assists) was brought in from the Växjö Lakers as a replacement. Still the number one in goal is veteran Leonardo Genoni.
In the attack, top performers such as Carter Camper (Tappara Tampere) and Carl Klingberg (Frölunda HC) left the team. The best-known new signing is probably DEB player Marc Michaelis, who most recently collected 39 scorer points for the SCL Tigers. Andreas Wingerli (15 goals, Skellefteå AIK) also brings offensive power. Last year's top scorers Jan Kovar, Lino Martschini and Brian O'Neill (combined 151 points) are also in the lineup going forward.
Unlike the Red Bulls, the EVZ has already played one test game. Against EC Red Bull Salzburg, Zug won 4:1 at the training camp in Zell am See-Kaprun. "I expect a very similar game against Red Bull München, they play a similar, aggressive game. For us, the game is a perfect preparation," said coach Dan Tangnes.
