Four games against Wolfsburg, four wins, 19:10 goals and 142:105 shots on goal - Munich absolutely deserved to beat the Grizzlies.
The quarter-final series against Wolfsburg lasted a total of 240 minutes. The Red Bulls were in the lead for more than half of it (130:30 minutes). Our boys only had to chase a deficit for 33 minutes.
Special teams: Our boys capitalized on four of their 16 power plays (rate: 25.0 percent), while the Grizzlies only used two of their 15 chances to overpay (13.3 percent).
Six Munich players averaged at least one point per game in the quarter-final series. But only captain Patrick Hager was involved in at least one goal in each of the four games.
Hager was also our top scorer with six goals. His four goals in the playoffs so far are also the best - even league-wide (together with Straubing's JC Lipon and Bremerhaven's Ross Mauermann).
The Red Bulls are in the DEL semi-finals for the seventh time since promotion. We have never lost a semi-final series.
It was the fourth sweep in the Red Bulls' DEL history, including one in the best-of-five mode. We managed the perfect best-of-seven series twice before: in 2015/16 against Wolfsburg and one season later against Bremerhaven.
