What was nice to see in the quarter-final against WolfsburgQuotes & stats on the quarter-final series// DEL - NEWSEHC Red Bull München won their quarter-final against the Grizzlys Wolfsburg after four games. The seventh semi-final appearance in our DEL history was nevertheless a hard piece of work. The votes & stats.
Toni Söderholm: "I'm very proud of the team. It was very hectic today and therefore not an easy game. Wolfsburg played strongly. Every duel in this series was tough, but respectful. That was great to watch. The playoffs aren't for boys, they're for men. You could clearly see that today. We've been focused since the first game. The break is good for us, because mentally the series has taken a lot of energy. Now we'll recover and then we'll move on."
Filip Varejcka: "The first two games in this series were crucial. We played unbelievably there. After that, the wear and tear was noticeable. But we played solidly. Compared to the main round, we've improved by three levels. Everything is just right at the moment. We'll take this good feeling with us. But now we need to recover."
Mike Stewart (Coach, Grizzlys Wolfsburg): "Congratulations to Munich. And congratulations to Armin Wurm. He played 15 years in Wolfsburg - his whole career. Today was his last game. About the game: It was a tight affair. We led, but then let the lead slip away again. That continued throughout the series - and that was our shortcoming. Munich played with a lot of pressure and high speed. We needed more luck on the glass. Our goal was to go far in the playoffs. We're therefore very disappointed."

Statistics
Four games against Wolfsburg, four wins, 19:10 goals and 142:105 shots on goal - Munich absolutely deserved to beat the Grizzlies.
The quarter-final series against Wolfsburg lasted a total of 240 minutes. The Red Bulls were in the lead for more than half of it (130:30 minutes). Our boys only had to chase a deficit for 33 minutes.
Special teams: Our boys capitalized on four of their 16 power plays (rate: 25.0 percent), while the Grizzlies only used two of their 15 chances to overpay (13.3 percent).
Six Munich players averaged at least one point per game in the quarter-final series. But only captain Patrick Hager was involved in at least one goal in each of the four games.
Hager was also our top scorer with six goals. His four goals in the playoffs so far are also the best - even league-wide (together with Straubing's JC Lipon and Bremerhaven's Ross Mauermann).
The Red Bulls are in the DEL semi-finals for the seventh time since promotion. We have never lost a semi-final series.
It was the fourth sweep in the Red Bulls' DEL history, including one in the best-of-five mode. We managed the perfect best-of-seven series twice before: in 2015/16 against Wolfsburg and one season later against Bremerhaven.
