Incidentally, Bremerhaven have only conceded more than two goals at home in this game so far this season.
Penguins goalkeepers stand out
It comes as no surprise that the second-placed team in the table has by far the best defense in the PENNY DEL. The two goalkeepers Maximilian Franzreb and Kristers Gudlevskis, who occupy first and second place in the league-wide goalie rankings and have outstanding statistics, only had to make 26 saves. Gudlevskis was only beaten once in the Penguins' 3:1 away win in Cologne on Friday night.
Head coach Alexander Sulzer's team is particularly difficult to overcome at home. Bremerhaven has only conceded eleven goals in eight home games. Even the reigning Swedish champions Skelleftea AIK were unable to find a way through during the week. In the last 16 of the Champions League, the German runners-up from the previous season ran out clear 5:0 winners.
Second forward line around Görtz running at full speed
However, the defensive artists of the seaside town not only defend their own box, but also boost the offense. Defenseman Nicholas Jensen has already set up 14 goals, making him one of the strongest offensive defenders and best providers of assists in the PENNY DEL. The shooting power of Phillip Bruggisser (three goals) is already well known.
While Ziga Jeglic (17 points) is the most diligent points collector, Max Görtz in particular has blossomed of late. The Swede, who joined from Schwenningen in the summer, recorded a hat-trick in the last DEL home game against Wolfsburg (6:1) and two assists in the top flight. Together with Markus Vikingstad and Ross Mauermann, Görtz forms a second top line behind the parade formation of Jan Urbas, Jeglic and Miha Verlic.
