Spectacular offensive field hockey in the first period: after a few seconds, the post prevented the Munich lead through Daubner, in turn Niederberger was on the spot against Kris Foucault (2.). The game continued with a high tempo, numerous great chances and brilliant goalkeepers. Hannibal Weitzmann saved strongly against McKiernan (7.). Shortly before the break, however, the Roosters keeper had no chance. Schütz marked after feed from Frederik Tiffels the guidance goal for the Red Bulls (19.).
Munich came with much momentum from the cabin and was clearly superior in the middle section. Niederberger only rarely challenged, but wide awake when he was needed. His teammates added in the 32nd minute in overtime: A dream pass from Jonathon Blum put Ehliz in position, who scored with his backhand. Iserlohn was out of control, the Red Bulls merciless. McKiernan (34.) and Daubner (35.) let still two further goals follow and provided thereby for a 4:0 guidance after 40 minutes.
In the final section Roosters coach Greg Poss changed the goalkeeper. Andreas Jenike replaced Weitzmann and had first luck with the shot against the bar of Blum in Munich overtime (47.). A few seconds later, the keeper had to reach behind him, because Hager deflected in the power play to 5:0 (47.). The Roosters at the end still with one or the other dangerous conclusion, but Niederberger kept his box clean.
