Less than two minutes had been played when the Red Bulls created their first big chance - and they capitalized on their second opportunity less than a minute later: Jakob Weber took a shot and Daubner gave the disc the decisive tick into the goal to give Munich a 1:0 lead (3.). Munich started the final period energetically and pushed for the lead again. However, after a long period with Frankfurt short-handed, the time had come: Varejcka pushed the puck over the line to make it 3:2 for EHC Red Bull Munich (56.), giving them their second win in their second game of the season.
