// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Course of the game
Less than two minutes had been played when the Red Bulls created their first big chance - and they capitalized on their second opportunity less than a minute later: Jakob Weber took a shot and Daubner gave the disc the decisive tick into the goal to give Munich a 1:0 lead (3.). Frankfurt then tried to find an answer, but Söderholm's team were focused, composed and always dangerous. Whenever the Lions got through, Red Bulls goalie Mathias Niederberger came up with the stop sign. Conclusion after the first 20 minutes: Both teams showed fast and fresh offensive ice hockey, the only goal was scored by EHC Red Bull München.
From the first face-off, Munich's Jonathon Blum had the first great opportunity of the second period. Cody Brenner made a lucky save. In the 25th minute, the Löwen goalkeeper had no chance: Munich outnumbered, Ehliz alert and deliberate - 2:0 for the Red Bulls. But this time Frankfurt were able to hit back. Daniel Pfaffengut scored from distance to make it 1:2 (27.). The match remained tightly contested, with both teams creating chances. Only one was allowed to celebrate until the second period break: Dominik Bokk scored for Frankfurt in the 38th minute on the second rebound to make it 2:2 at the break after 40 minutes.
Munich started the final period energetically and pushed for the lead again. The home side were only able to mount relief attacks and relied on goalie Rodion Schumacher (20), who came on the ice for the injured Brenner in the 29th minute. However, after a long period with Frankfurt short-handed, the time had come: Varejcka pushed the puck over the line to make it 3:2 for EHC Red Bull Munich (56.), giving them their second win in their second game of the season.
