Munich attacking trio on the move
Our nominally third attacking formation was partly responsible for the perfect start. Markus Eisenschmid scored the first goal of the season in Iserlohn after just over two minutes, the preparatory work coming from his two strike partners Chris DeSousa and Taro Hirose. The new Munich signing needed just 126 seconds to score his first point in the PENNY DEL on his debut in a Red Bulls jersey.
In the final period, DeSousa and Hirose once again took over the playmaking. The former scored a brace, the latter scored on an assist from “Sous” to win the game and thus to score his first goal in Germany's top league. DeSousa was also involved in Max Daubner's opening goal in Frankfurt.
With five scorer points (two goals, three assists), our number 82 is currently second in the league's all-time scorer list behind Berlin's Gabriel Fontaine (six points). Hirose collected a total of three points and summer signing Tobias Rieder also made a great contribution with two assists.
