In addition to defender Dominik Bittner and the long-term injured Trevor Parkes, the two forwards Adam Brooks (upper body) and Nikolaus Heigl (illness) are also out for at least the two games on the opening weekend at the Iserlohn Roosters (September 20 | 7:30 p.m.) and the Löwen Frankfurt (September 22 | 2:00 p.m.).
Brooks' DEL debut for the Red Bulls postponed
Former NHL player Brooks joined the Red Bulls this summer from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL). In the past two seasons, the 28-year-old scored 66 points in 110 games for his former club. The Canadian was also on the ice 45 times in the NHL (eleven points).
Last season, youngster Heigl earned himself a permanent place in the forward line of coach Toni Söderholm's team. At this year's Red Bulls Salute, the 21-year-old scored his first goal in the jersey of the four-time German champions against EC Red Bull Salzburg.
