The Red Bulls' squad planning for the 2025/26 season continues to make great progress. Following the signings of Brady Ferguson, Jeremy McKenna, and Luis Schinko, EHC Red Bull München is proud to announce three more new additions, all of whom were part of this year's championship-winning team from Salzburg in the ICE Hockey League.
Winkler: “We are delighted to be able to keep all three in our organization.”
Christian Winkler, Managing Director Sports Red Bull Ice Hockey: “Ryan Murphy was perhaps the best player in the ICE Hockey League. His skill set is exceptional. He is a winner who played a major role in Salzburg's championships. Phillip Sinn and Philipp Krening, who have both already played for München, have developed tremendously and are ready for the next step. Sinn has been a real factor for Salzburg in the playoffs over the past two years. Krening also put in some strong performances last season. We are delighted to be able to keep all three in our organization.”
With Ryan Murphy, EHC Red Bull München gains defensive experience from 175 NHL games for its squad, among other things. The 32-year-old Canadian played in the world's best league for the Carolina Hurricanes, Minnesota Wild, and New Jersey Devils. In the past two seasons, the defenseman, who previously played in the KHL and AHL, played 127 competitive games for EC Red Bull Salzburg. Murphy scored an impressive 99 points (22 goals | 77 assists).
Small München comeback for Krening and Sinn
Philipp Krening has already played six times for Red Bull München in the 2022/23 season. During that time, the 20-year-old forward celebrated his goal debut in the PENNY DEL and recorded one assist. Last season, Krening, who joined the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in 2018, established himself in the EC Red Bull Salzburg professional team. The German U20 national player played 43 games (four goals | seven assists) in the multinational ICE Hockey League last season, as well as nine games in the Champions Hockey League (two goals).
Phillip Sinn has also already played twice for EHC Red Bull München in the 2022/23 season. The 21-year-old defenseman, who also joined the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in 2018, has been a regular member of the Salzburg professional team for two years. In the past two seasons, the German U20 national team player has played a total of 106 games (94 ICEHL | 12 CHL) for the ICE Hockey League champions.
