“It's probably going to be a bit weird, but it'll also be a lot of fun”Interview with new addition Brady Ferguson// INTERVIEWBrady Ferguson was already in Munich a few weeks ago – soon the Bavarian capital will be his new home. In the interview, our new number 12 talks about his first impressions, meeting the team and quickly seeing Rögle again.
Brady, a few weeks ago, pictures of you and your family on vacation in Munich were already circulating. How do you like the city so far?
Brady Ferguson: “I first got to know the city four years ago when I played against the Red Bulls in the Champions League with Rögle. Munich is beautiful, family-friendly and has a lot of parks. It was great to show my family all the things I had told them about.”
What does your family think about the move, after five years in Sweden?
Ferguson: “Of course it was a big decision for us, especially with two small children. But my wife and I talked about it for a long time and came to the conclusion that Munich is exactly where we want to be as a family. Everyone I talked to had only good things to say about Red Bull München and the city. So in the end it wasn't difficult to convince me of the change.”

In 2022, you won the Champions League with Rögle. A great title. Unfortunately, you narrowly missed out on the championship several times. Is the league title now the number one goal in Germany?
Ferguson: “For me, the number one goal is always to win titles. And I'm sure everyone on the team feels the same way. I've won quite a few titles in my youth and I also experienced the Toronto Marlies winning the AHL title in 2018 with Adam Brooks and Ben Smith as captain. To win big and win titles with the team – that's what you play for.”
Did Ben Smith and Adam Brooks help you make the move to Munich?
Ferguson: “I spoke to Christian Winkler a few times before the move became concrete. Ben also made me and my family feel that we could find a new home in Munich.”
Has he introduced you to the other teammates yet?
Ferguson: "We met with Ben and Brooksi when we were in Munich. Les Lancaster was there too. Later, at the SAP Garden, I got to know some of the others.”

On August 22, we will face Rögle in the semi-finals of the Red Bulls Salute. It'll be a quick reunion with your old teammates.
Ferguson: “I've only ever played for this one club in Europe, and now I'll be playing against my old teammates with my second team. It'll probably be a bit weird at first, but it'll definitely be a lot of fun, too. As a full-time pro, I naturally want to beat them. But I'm really looking forward to the reunion.”
No unfinished business?
Ferguson (laughs): "No. I had a great time in Sweden, made many new friends there and celebrated some successes. But now I'm looking forward to the new chapter in Munich and can't wait to get started.”
