“O'zapft is!” The Red Bulls visit the Oktoberfest

“O'zapft is!” The Red Bulls visit the OktoberfestPlayers, coaches and staff at the Oktoberfest// CURRENTWith six points from the DEL opening weekend under their belts, the Red Bulls accepted an invitation from our beer partner Hacker-Pschorr to attend the traditional Red Bulls visit to the Munich Oktoberfest on Monday.
And coach Toni Söderholm's team had well and truly earned their trip to the Oktoberfest. With two away wins against the Iserlohn Roosters (5:7) and the Löwen Frankfurt (2:3), the four-time German champions got off to an ideal start to the new PENNY DEL season with a maximum haul of six points.
The atmosphere on Monday afternoon on the Theresienwiese in the festival tent of our partner Hacker-Pschorr, who will continue to serve its popular beer at our home games and thus also in the SAP Garden until at least 2034, could not have been better. During a cozy get-together under the "Bavarian sky", players, coaches and the entire staff enjoyed a hearty snack and, of course, a beer.

Wiesn debut for Tobias Rieder
Tobias Rieder celebrated a premiere. Although the 31-year-old comes from Landshut, he has never been to the Oktoberfest before. "I've been playing abroad since I was 16 years old. And there was always ice hockey in September and October. That's why I've never made it here," explained the former NHL player.
How good that the attacker has been wearing the Munich jersey with the number eight since the summer. And what is his first impression of the Oktoberfest? "It feels great, everything is in the green zone," said Rieder, drawing a brief positive conclusion with a twinkle in his eye. "It's nice to enjoy the day with the team today," he emphasized.
Hirose: "I'm really enjoying it!"
Two wins in the PENNY DEL, a game-winner, three scoring points and now right in the middle of the world's biggest folk festival. For our new signing Taro Hirose, who has only been in the Bavarian capital for just over a week and is in Europe for the first time ever, one highlight follows the next. He also made his debut at the Wiesn.

"It's been a crazy week," laughed the Canadian with Japanese roots. "But I'm really enjoying it, it's a great experience. We're really having a lot of fun." The 28-year-old is clearly already feeling at home in his new home. And the next highlight awaits Hirose and his teammates next Friday with the Grand Opening of the SAP Garden against the Buffalo Sabres.
"Every one of us is really looking forward to it. The new arena is incredible. We can hardly wait to play in front of our fans for the first time." The Munich fans in turn will be able to experience the Red Bulls live for the very first time in our new home!
