"Not those Munich guys again"Press conference before CHL round of 16 with Winkler and Szuber from Munich and Kläy and Leuenberger from EV Zug// CHL - INTERVIEWOn Tuesday evening, Red Bull München and EV Zug face each other at 19:30 in the Olympia-Eisstadion in the eighth-final first leg of the Champions League.
"We have always looked good at the end in games against Zug in the past. When people ask me why we will advance again against this strong team, I say quite simply: because we will score the decisive goal more in the final standings," explained Christian Winkler (Managing Director Sports Red Bull Eishockey) Sunday afternoon during a press conference.
For this top match in the European premier league, there is a special offer for all fans. Buy two tickets and pay only one. Simply put two tickets from the same price category in the shopping cart (whether seating or standing, main stand or back straight) and save 50 percent.
Before the duel, in addition to Winkler, Maksymilian Szuber (defender Red Bull München), Reto Kläy (General Manager EV Zug) and Sven Leuenberger (forward EV Zug) have answered questions from the press.

Winkler and his Swiss colleague Kläy talked, among other things, about the excellent relationship between the two clubs, the previous meetings in the Champions League and the excellent youth programs. Szuber and Leuenberger, for example, have made it from their own junior teams to the professional teams.
Winkler on ...
... the EV Zug draw: "Here we go again! All four previous duels were high-class. I see Zug as one of the most difficult tasks in the competition. This is a top team."
... integration of young players: "We always try to integrate as many players as possible. Provided there are enough squad spots and the youngsters are ready. If you pull players up, it is important that they also get a real chance there. But it's also clear that you can't do it with young players alone. It's important to have enough experienced pros in the squad that the up-and-coming talents can lean on. We have an excellent infrastructure and perfect conditions in our Red Bull Eishockey Akademie. In the end, that benefits not only us, but all of ice hockey."
Szuber on ...
... the duel with Zug: "It's my first time playing against Zug in the Champions League. We will give everything to stop their high tempo. And of course we will try to win the discs early with our hard forecheck.“

Kläy on ...
... the rivalry with Munich: "I wrote Christian (Winkler) a message after the draw: 'Not those Munich guys again.' We have a very good relationship off the ice, but it's also a love-hate relationship because we haven't advanced against them yet. When you go into the second legs with a lead and then get eliminated, as in the previous duels, it's simply unpleasant. Red Bull München is a top team. These duels are always about physicality. That's ice hockey."
Leuenberger on ...
... the reason why Zug is jubilant at the end: "We still have a score to settle and are motivated to the hilt. That's why we'll make it to the quarterfinals this time."
