Schinko on his move to München: “A very easy decision”Our new addition in his first interview// INTERVIEWSince Saturday afternoon, it has been official that Luis Schinko will be wearing the EHC Red Bull München jersey next season. We talked to him about his first days in Munich and his transfer before he left for the DEB team.
Hello Luis, your first few days in München are behind you. Have you settled in well yet? How do you like it here?
Luis Schinko: “Very well. I'm from Landshut, so I've been to Munich quite a few times, but it's a very nice feeling to know that I'm going to be living here now. The atmosphere is great and I'm really looking forward to playing in Munich from now on. I have already been preparing for the upcoming World Cup in the SAP Garden over the past few days. Because my season with the Grizzlys Wolfsburg was already over at the beginning of March, I was allowed to go on the ice here to keep fit, for which I am very grateful.”

Have you had a chance to see a bit of the city yet?
Schinko: “I haven't been into the city yet because I've been very busy since I got here. I train in the morning and then I go home, where I have a few things to do. But I think Munich is very beautiful and as soon as I get back from the national team, I'll take a closer look at every corner.”
How did you come to the decision to join the Red Bulls and how did the talks go?
Schinko: “For me, München is one of the best clubs, if not the best club in Germany. It is a top address in the league and since it was my goal to take the next step, the decision in the sporting sense was very easy. Christian Winkler and I talked on the phone from time to time and he ultimately convinced me of the concept. Besides, Munich is very close to my heart.”
Have you set any personal goals for the next season?
Schinko: “First of all, I want to settle in, enjoy myself and soak up everything. Some of the best players in the league play here and I'm looking forward to the competition. My goal is to get better every day and then we'll see what the new season brings.”
