DeSousa still on fire
A total of 10,796 spectators watched our team win 5:2 at home against the Schwenninger Wild Wings on Thursday evening. After falling behind early, coach Don Jackson's team took complete control of the game. The result was a perfect start after the international break and the sixth win in a row.
Among the scorers was once again Chris DeSousa, who has been in top form for weeks now. The Canadian scored twice again and now has eight goals in the last six games. "I've had good chances all season. Sometimes there are phases where the pucks go in. I hope it continues like this," said the 34-year-old about his run.

DeSousa, who currently has 25 goals to his name, can even hope for the title of the league's top scorer. Only Ty Ronning (29 goals, Eisbären Berlin) and Zach Senyshyn (26, Schwenninger Wild Wings) are currently ahead of him. "That would be a nice thing. But the most important thing now is that we continue to build on our winning streak and go into the playoffs with confidence," the attacker makes clear.
Right in the middle of the playoff race
It remains to be seen in the coming weeks whether final round ice hockey will still be played in Frankfurt this season. Anything between seventh and tenth place still seems possible for the Löwen. In any case, the form curve has been clearly pointing upwards recently. On Friday, the Hessen beat the Augsburg Panthers 5:4 on penalties to win their fourth game in a row.
In the final spurt of the main round, Frankfurt can once again rely on goalkeeper Thomas Greiss. The former NHL goaltender, who already helped out at the start of the season, has been back in the line-up since mid-January.

Signals for the future
It is already clear that the Löwen will have two absolute cornerstones on the ice for the next two seasons. The two top forwards Cameron Brace (20 goals, 14 assists) and Chris Wilkie (31 points) have each signed a new two-year contract in the Main metropolis.
And coach Tom Rowe will also remain behind the boards for at least another season. "This extension is not just a commitment to my future, but a shared vision for the success of our team," the 68-year-old was quoted as saying on the Löwens website.
On Sunday, however, success is expected to be lacking, as it always has been against Munich. The Red Bulls have won the last ten competitive games against Frankfurt.
