“We are strong and can come back": Red Bulls believe in comeback after game 5Voices and stats of the fifth quarter-final// PLAYOFFS - LATEST NEWSIn the 86. minute, the decision in Game 5 was made in favor of the Adler. This means that our Red Bulls are now trailing 2:3 in the best-of-seven series. Nevertheless, coach Don Jackson is convinced that his team will make a comeback. The voices and stats.
Don Jackson (coach, EHC Red Bull München): "It was a very close game, which was no surprise. Both teams played very well. It's a best-of-seven series and we're taking it one game at a time. I'm proud of my players and I know they're strong, can come back and win the next two games too.” Dallas Eakins (coach, Adler Mannheim): “You don't have to be a fan of ice hockey to enjoy this game. You just have to like the idea of competition. These were two evenly matched teams who didn't hold back and showed a willingness to fight. The intensity was high, as were the duels.” Matthias Plachta (forward, Adler Mannheim): “Our first period was okay, the second was mixed, especially at the beginning. We knew we had to step it up in the third period. We picked up the pace and were able to keep it up through the overtime. However, there were a few changes in momentum. It's a close series that's demanding a lot from both teams.”

Statistics
Game 5 lasted 85:41 minutes. Never before had both teams dueled for so long in the DEL. The previous record was München's 2-1 win in game 3 of the 2017/18 playoff semi-final (85:30 minutes). Four of the eight playoff games between the two teams in Mannheim have gone into overtime, with München winning one of them. For the first time in this series, the game was not won by the team that scored the first goal. The Red Bulls took 44 shots on goal, the Adler 42. The total of 86 shots on goal is a season-high for a game involving München (regular season and playoffs). Maxi Kastner played his 98th playoff game in the DEL for München, drawing level with the previous club record holder Daryl Boyle. Both München players Jonathon Blum (33:18 minutes) and Max Daubner (31:12 minutes) cracked the 30-minute mark for ice time. Nick Cicek put in the most time on the ice for the Adler (29:48 minutes). Defenseman Blum is now the new playoff scoring list leader for the Red Bulls with five points (five assists) after his two assists. Adam Brooks covered almost eight kilometers (7855 meters). Our goal scorer for the 3:3 equalizer is thus well ahead of second-place Daubner (7254 meters). The most enthusiastic Adler runner, John Gilmour, covered even more than a kilometer less (6599 meters).
