Don Jackson (coach, EHC Red Bull München): "It was a very close game, which was no surprise. Both teams played very well. It's a best-of-seven series and we're taking it one game at a time. I'm proud of my players and I know they're strong, can come back and win the next two games too.”
Dallas Eakins (coach, Adler Mannheim): “You don't have to be a fan of ice hockey to enjoy this game. You just have to like the idea of competition. These were two evenly matched teams who didn't hold back and showed a willingness to fight. The intensity was high, as were the duels.”
Matthias Plachta (forward, Adler Mannheim): “Our first period was okay, the second was mixed, especially at the beginning. We knew we had to step it up in the third period. We picked up the pace and were able to keep it up through the overtime. However, there were a few changes in momentum. It's a close series that's demanding a lot from both teams.”
