The sporting management of the four-time German champions complied with this request after very constructive and friendly talks with the player and terminated the contractual relationship.

Zach Redmond: "I have come to the conclusion that now is the right time to conclude my career in Europe. Ultimately, personal and family reasons led me to make this difficult decision. I am now embarking on the next chapter in my life. My big thanks go to the fans, my teammates and the entire organization for the great time in Munich."

Redmond, a former NHL player, moved to the Bavarian capital in the summer of 2020. In the past three seasons, the 2022 DEL Defenseman of the Year played a total of 165 league games for the Red Bulls, collecting 125 scoring points (39 goals, 86 assists). In addition, he played 18 games in the Champions League (3 goals, 11 assists). Last season, he won the German championship with the Munich team.
