DEB takes six champions of the Red Bulls to the World CupMunich trio absent due to injury// NATIONAL TEAMThe Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) announced the final squad for the World Championship in Finland and Latvia (May 12-28) on May 10. Among them: six players from the championship team of EHC Red Bull München.
National team coach Harold Kreis has made his decision, the DEB team for the 86th edition of the Ice Hockey World Championship is set. Part of the 25-man lineup are also Munich's champion goalie Mathias Niederberger, defenseman Maksymilian Szuber and the four forwards Maximilian Kastner, Justin Schütz, Frederik Tiffels and Filip Varejcka.
On the other hand, our forward Andreas Eder is missing. The 27-year-old, who was on the ice in the last test game against the USA on May 9 (final score: 3:6), will miss the World Cup due to a lower-body injury. Previously, captain Patrick Hager (multiple injuries) and Yasin Ehliz (lower-body injury) had to cancel their participation in the World Cup tournament.

Kreis believes team is "very well staffed"
National coach Harold Kreis: "We are convinced that we have filled all the roles we think are necessary very well. We're looking forward to finally getting started after the many weeks of intensive, joint preparation and getting settled in Tampere."
The DEB team will start the World Championship on May 12 in Tampere against Sweden. Difficult games against defending champion and host Finland (May 13) and the USA (May 15) will follow. The other group opponents are Denmark (May 18), Austria (May 19), Hungary (May 21) and France (May 23).

Group B in Riga: Latvia, Canada, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Norway, Kazakhstan
