Don Jackson: "It was a tough series and I have to give Wolfsburg a huge compliment. It was very difficult to play against them. I'm very happy with the way we started. We showed excellent ice hockey in the all-important game. It was a strong way to end the series."

Maximilian Kastner: "We came out like fire and were the better team for 55 minutes. The series against Wolfsburg was a roller coaster of emotions. We can be proud of ourselves and now go into the final series against Ingolstadt with a broad chest."

Patrick Hager: "When the pressure is greatest, we make our best games. That shows the character of our team. We had more big chances than Wolfsburg in every game, but were too impatient at times. We have to find a better balance there. The series against Ingolstadt will be special for me. When you win the first championship in the club's history with a club, that's of course special."

Chris DeSousa: "We were really good against Wolfsburg and the better team in almost all games, but ran into an extremely hot goalie. We stuck to our game plan though and were successful with it. We're looking forward to the series against Ingolstadt."

Mike Stewart (coach, Grizzlys Wolfsburg): "We knew Munich would come out like the fire department, yet we fell behind 0:2. Munich was very strong on the power play. Two very good teams met in this series and I'm proud of how my guys performed against this top opponent. We weren't far away, but in the end our tank was empty."

Dominik Bittner (defenseman, Grizzlys Wolfsburg): "Our start wasn't what we wanted it to be. After that, we had to open up, which was punished. But we put everything we had into it. We fought until the last second and believed in ourselves, but unfortunately it wasn't to be."

Statistics

The Red Bulls fired a staggering 288 shots at the Grizzlys' goal. By comparison, opponents Wolfsburg didn't even manage half as many (140).

The Red Bulls used 27 percent of their power play opportunities against Wolfsburg - the best value of all semifinalists. Our shorthanded rate of 88.5 percent is also impressive.

Ben Street contributed eight assists to the team's progress against Wolfsburg. The Canadian forward was our top scorer in the semifinal series. Street also leads the DEL playoff scorers' list with 14 points.

Yasin Ehliz and Chris DeSousa were each successful four times against Wolfsburg, making them Munich's most accurate scorers. Ehliz leads the DEL playoffs scoring list with seven goals.

Jonathon Blum reeled off 140:34 minutes of ice time in the series against Wolfsburg - on average, the defenseman was the only Munich player on the ice for more than 20 minutes per game.

The Red Bulls also won the third Game 7 in their club history.

Patrick Hager completed the seventh Game 7 of his DEL career against Wolfsburg, winning six times with his teams. Twice, by the way, in the playoff final: 2018 with the Red Bulls and 2014 with our upcoming opponent ERC Ingolstadt.
