Statistics
19:29 shots on goal: For the first time in these playoffs, the goal-scoring record did not favor the Red Bulls.
But the efficiency was right: Because the Red Bulls put 10.5 percent of their shots on goal into the net and Ingolstadt only 3.5 percent, our boys were jubilant after Game 1.
Mathias Niederberger saved 28 of the 29 shots on goal. His save percentage in now eight DEL finals games is an outstanding 94.9 percent.
Munich won almost two-thirds of the bullies in Game 1. The Red Bulls had the puck in their end after 35 of 53 face-offs (rate: 66 percent).
The power play is not yet a factor in this final series: both teams remained without a goal in six minutes of overtime each.
Frederik Tiffels scored for the first time in the current playoffs. It was also our forward's 50th DEL goal.
