50,000 euros for a good cause at the Kitz Hockey NightEx-captain Wolf strikes six times// CURRENTIt was a game of a special kind. At the Interwetten Kitz Hockey Night last weekend, the Wings for Life selection with our ex-captain Michael Wolf won 9:5 against the Kinderlachen e. V. team. The donation proceeds: 50,000 euros.

While our boys made the semi-finals clear on Sunday with their fourth win against Bremerhaven (Game 1 on March 31 at the Olympia Eisstadion | Click here for tickets), former ice hockey legends played for a good cause in Kitzbühel, Austria.

Matter of honor for Wolf

"Wings for Life asked me if I would lace up my skates for a charity event. I didn't think twice and accepted immediately. After all, the ice hockey community sticks together, that's a point of honor," Wolf explains.

The ex-national striker impressively proved that he has not forgotten how to play ice hockey. The German champion from 2016 to 2018 himself contributed six of his team's nine goals. He was supported by Niklas Hede, another former professional of our club, among others. As is well known, Hede now looks after the Munich club's young talent as Director of Development Youth.

In the opposing team, another old acquaintance from the German Ice Hockey League was waiting for the two. There, Lenz Funk laced up his skates. The ex-DEL pro was on the ice with former NHL pros and Austrian ice hockey legends. In the end, however, only one thing counted: the outstanding donation of 50,000 euros, which Wings for Life and Kinderlachen e. V. shared as brothers.
