Red Bulls meet Bremerhaven at home
Thursday, 30. January 2025 | PENNY DEL, preview matchday 42: Red Bulls host Pinguins Bremerhaven
Red Bulls meet Bremerhaven at home// DEL - PREVIEWOn Friday evening, EHC Red Bull München returns to the SAP Garden with another sold-out home game. At 7.30 pm we welcome the Pinguins Bremerhaven (live on MagentaSport, Sportdeutschland.TV & on our blog).
Following the tragic death of Tobias Eder, an evening under particularly difficult circumstances awaits us all. Immediately before the start of the game, there will be a minute's silence in honor of the former Munich striker. The Red Bulls players will also wear the name of their former team-mate on their chest. Some fan clubs have announced that they will commemorate Tobi together at the E1 entrance at the end of the game.
Fourth in the table against fifth
Even though the situation is anything but easy for everyone involved, the aim is to build on the performances of the past few games in sporting terms and record a fourth win in a row in the next clash with a direct league rival. Coach Don Jackson's team have taken eight points from their last three away games, conceding just five goals in the process. A win against the Pinguine would extend our lead over the seaside town team, even though Bremerhaven have played three games less.
Both teams have already scored in the three duels so far this season. Munich won 5:4 on the coast after a penalty shootout and lost 0:4 at the same venue, while our opponents prevailed 2:1 in a shootout at the SAP Garden a few weeks ago.

Many goals conceded, still strong special teams
In the past five games, however, the North Germans have lost their way a little and suffered several defeats. Most recently, the runners-up from the previous season lost 4:6 at the Schwenninger Wild Wings.
In general, the PENNY DEL's still by far best defense around the two top goalkeepers Maximilian Franzreb and Kristers Gudlevskis has had to concede a relatively high number of goals recently - even when short-handed. And yet the Pinguine are still top of the league with at least one player less on the ice, and Bremerhaven also has the best power play.
Pinguine duo makes an appearance
Jan Urbas has once again been strong in January with five goals so far. Christian Wejse also had a successful first calendar month this year. The Dane, who is actually responsible for the physical component in the Pinguine game, has already collected seven scoring points (six assists) since the turn of the year. The interplay with Nino Kinder (three goals in January) works well and gives head coach Alexander Sulzer more options in attack.
