October couldn't have ended better for the Red Bulls. We were the only team to pick up the maximum number of points in the past four matchdays. We also scored exactly five goals in each of those four games. The last one was a 5:2 win in Iserlohn on Tuesday. Now we want to start November successfully at Pulverturm.

"Straubing are playing a great season. There's a reason they're so high up," says Yasin Ehliz about the third-place team. Coach Tom Pokel's team is a force to be reckoned with, especially in their own stadium. We have already been beaten there this season (2:4).

Mattinen and Müller hit the target

At first, things looked very good for the Red Bulls. We led 2-0 until the 33rd minute, but then the Tigers turned it around - thanks in part to Nicolas Mattinen. The Canadian defender came from Villacher SV and has hit the ground running. With 17 goals, he is the Tigers' best scorer this season and has played a big role in Straubing currently having the most defenseman goals (14) in the DEL.

The Tigers have also hit the mark with Marcel Müller. The 35-year-old was the top scorer in the DEL2 last season. Now he is attacking again in the German Ice Hockey League - and doing so successfully: Müller was voted Player of the Month by the Tigers fans in September. In October, he was also Straubing's top scorer with five goals.

Ehliz: "Have to focus on ourselves"

The Red Bulls know what to expect. "I expect a hard-fought derby," stresses Ehliz, who is particularly looking forward to the heated atmosphere at the Pulverturm: "The atmosphere in Straubing is always good, both fan camps are fully involved. It's fun to play there."

And it's especially fun to win derbies. Ehliz explains what will be necessary for that: "We have to focus on ourselves and keep the plays simple. It will be important to move the disc up quickly and of course we want to put a lot of pressure on the opponent's goal."
