"The future of our sport and thus also of the PENNY DEL can only be shaped in line with social developments and challenges. The responsibility we have for our sport and society therefore goes beyond the final whistle of the third period. That's why we have developed 'DEL4 - the fourth period' as a synonym for our responsibility beyond the game," says Gernot Tripcke, Managing Director of the DEL.
In the concept, four fields of action are defined in which the league acts concretely together with the 15 clubs:
1. For the integrity of the game (DEL4Fairplay)
2. For young talent (DEL4Youth)
3. For our togetherness (DEL4All)
4. For our environment (DEL4Nature)
Commitment to Race to Zero and thus ambition net zero emissions by 2040
The league sets itself ambitious goals. For example, the DEL is committed to the UN Race to Zero, which means cutting CO2 emissions by 50 percent by 2030 and achieving net zero CO2 emissions by 2040. Together with the clubs, the aim is to also achieve these goals league-wide.
