Pledge cutlery and sustainable jerseys at the Red Bulls
In addition to the competition, other activities are planned around match day. For example, our waste disposal partner PreZero will be on site with its own information stand and will provide information on the topic of zero waste. There are no paper cups and trays in our arena. Instead, there are around 11,000 deposit cups and 1,800 deposit trays in circulation each match day, which drastically reduce waste production and thus prevent tons of waste. Our return rate for the deposit containers is almost 100%.
A small side note: Coach Don Jackson's players will also play against the Schwenninger Wild Wings in our home jerseys, which, like all our jerseys, are produced entirely in Europe and are made from 100 percent sustainable yarn. The referees' jerseys will also receive special attention on the 44th and 45th matchdays. All 28 main referees will wear special jerseys that incorporate Germany's so-called climate stripes (Warming Stripes according to Ed Hawkins), which visualize the long-term temperature trends of man-made global warming.
Own solar energy in the SAP Garden
Last year's move to the SAP Garden, where ecological, social and economic sustainability factors were taken into account in the construction plans from the outset, was another key building block in the club's sustainability strategy.
