Wings for Life match day: special jersey and live artistic performanceTogether for a good cause// CURRENTOur home game against Frankfurt on February 16 will once again be dedicated to the Wings for Life Foundation. In addition to a special jersey in which the team will be wearing, there will be various fundraising activities and special guests in SAP Garden.

EHC Red Bull München has been actively involved in the Wings for Life Foundation since 2013 and has already raised a considerable sum in the process. In total, over 125,000 euros have been raised around our Wings for Life match days.

This year, too, we will be drawing attention to the foundation and its cause on February 16. As in previous seasons, our professional players will be wearing a special jersey with a story behind it at the match against the Lions.

Special jersey design - auction of the Game Worn jerseys

The well-known artist Martin Tardy is behind the design of the jerseys. The eye-catching pattern shows a person standing up from a wheelchair. The jersey thus alludes directly to the goal of the Wings for Life Foundation: To find a cure for paraplegia. The whole thing is drawn using "one-line drawing", as Tardy himself calls his technique. In this technique, figures, bodies and faces are created from a single stroke using both hands and without setting them down. Unlike in previous years, the jersey will not go on regular sale. Instead, the Game Worn jerseys can be purchased on Ebay afterwards (February 17 to 27). This time, not only the jerseys of our professionals are up for auction for a good cause - our Rookie Bulls will also be wearing flocked Wings for Life jerseys for the first time, which will be auctioned from February 10 to 17.

Live drawing by Tardy and other matchday activities

A number of activities are planned around the matchday itself. Artist Tardy will draw live on the ice during a period break and present his extraordinary technique. There will also be interviews with foundation founder Wolfgang Illek and Paralympics athlete Moritz Brückner.

In addition to pledge donations for the Wings for Life Foundation, which every visitor can take part in, and the regular matchday raffle, there will be a second, special raffle. Anyone who registers or is already registered for the Wings for Life World Run on May 4 at the SAP Garden will be in the lottery pot.

For years, we have had our own team at the start with the "Red Bulls and Friends" running group, where every participant is welcome. It doesn't matter whether it's the "Flagship Run" in Munich's Olympic Park or anywhere else with the virtual Catcher Car. At the last Wings for Life Worldrun, our running group was able to defend its title as the most successful worldwide. Last year alone, 87,875 euros were donated to the foundation by the "Red Bulls and Friends".
