Beforehand, the final preparation phase will take place in Munich, where no fewer than eight Red Bull champions will be taking part.

National coach Harold Kreis announced the DEB lineup for the dress rehearsal of the upcoming World Championship (May 12-28) on May 3rd. In the fourth preparation phase before the tournament, numerous Munich champions - goalie Mathias Niederberger, Andreas Eder, Yasin Ehliz, Maximilian Kastner, Justin Schütz, Maksymilian Szuber, Frederik Tiffels and Filip Varejcka - will don the jersey of the German national team. Club captain Patrick Hager was unable to accept his nomination due to multiple injuries sustained during the playoffs.

Preparatory banger in Munich - tough World Championship kick-off

The 86th edition of the Men's Ice Hockey World Championship will take place this year in Finland and Latvia. The venues will be the cities of Tampere and Riga. 16 nations will fight for the title in 64 matches. MagentaSport will show all games of the German national team as well as all knockout games live.

In Tampere, the DEB team will start the World Championship on May 12 against Sweden. Two more top-class opponents await the DEB team: defending champions and hosts Finland (May 13) and the world number one USA (May 15). The other group opponents are Denmark (May 18), Austria (May 19), Hungary (May 21) and France (May 23).

Before heading to the World Championship, the DEB team will play one last preparatory game in Munich. On May 9, the team will meet group opponent USA at the Olympia-Eisstadion - home of the Red Bulls.
