The 1.88-metre tall and physically strong defender receives the Red Bulls' tenth foreigner's license and completes the squad of the four-time German champions for the 2024/25 season.
Winkler is looking forward to a defender with "physical presence"
Christian Winkler, Managing Director Sports Red Bull Ice Hockey: "We wanted to add some more depth to the squad at the defender position. In Will, we have found a player who is a strong skater and has a physical presence. He's hungry for his chance to show himself in Europe."
This is Riedell's first stop in Europe. The Greensboro-born American has a total of 48 games in the AHL, the second-highest league in North America. Most recently, the 28-year-old played for the Savannah Ghost Pirates in the ECHL, where he made 46 appearances as assistant captain. He has scored eight goals and 20 assists.
The defenseman arrives in Munich on Monday and will wear the number 33 for the Red Bulls.
