On our "Wings for Life" match day, we will once again be collecting money for the good cause with various campaigns.

EHC Red Bull München has been committed to the Wings for Life Foundation since 2013. In recent years, the Red Bulls have already raised over 110,000 euros to help the foundation achieve its goal. The non-profit organization has set itself the task of finding a cure for paraplegia.

According to WHO estimates, 250,000 to 500,000 people worldwide suffer a traumatic spinal cord injury every year. This includes Wolfgang Illek (Head of Fundraising Wings for Life), who will share his story with us on Friday.

We want to do our bit again this year and are counting on the support of our fans. Before and during the match against Ingolstadt, you have various opportunities to take part in our campaign. You have already made a small contribution: One euro from every ticket sold will go to the "Wings for Life" foundation - and the match has already been sold out for some time.

Part of the special jersey sale goes to Wings for Life

Our special jersey for this match day will be a major highlight. The jersey, which like last year was designed by artist Wolfi Kowalski, is once again a joint project with EC Red Bull Salzburg and this year also with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors from the Alps Hockey League. You can buy the jersey now online in the Fanstore or at the Bullshops in the Olympic Ice Stadium. Ten euros from every jersey sold will go directly to the foundation.

The design is based on the motto "Patchwork". Visually, the jersey is made up of many individual puzzle pieces. These are symbolic of the Red Bulls teams, which are made up of many individual characters who contribute their part to the big picture. Just like the members of the "Red Bulls & Friends" running team, who will be running again this year at the Wings for Life World Run for those who can't do it themselves (find out more, join and participate here).

Neben den anteiligen Erlösen durch Ticket- und Trikotverkäufen gibt es zahlreiche weitere Möglichkeiten, einen Beitrag zu leisten. Die Einnahmen aus der Spieltagsverlosung gehen komplett an Wings for Life. Ebenso der Erlös aus der späteren Versteigerung der Game-Worn-Jerseys vom Spiel gegen Ingolstadt. Zusätzlich habt ihr die Möglichkeit, euren Becherpfand an den Blockeingängen zu spenden.

Mitmachen beim Wings for Life World Run

Beim Wings for Life World Run starten weltweit über hunderttausend Läufer zur gleichen Zeit. Eine feste Ziellinie gibt es nämlich nicht. Stattdessen setzt sich 30 Minuten nach dem Start das Catcher-Car in Bewegung und überholt die Läufer und Rollstuhlfahrer nach und nach. Alle Startgelder und Spenden kommen zu 100 Prozent der Rückenmarksforschung zugute.

In diesem Jahr findet der Wings for Life World Run am 5. Mai 2024 (13:00 Uhr) statt. An einigen Standorten gibt es sogenannte Flagship-Runs. Bedeutet: Ihr geht mit vielen anderen Menschen gemeinsam an den Start. Unter anderem im Münchner Olympiapark, also unweit unserer Heimat. Wir zählen auf dich!
