The SAP Garden can accommodate up to 11,500 spectators, with a maximum capacity of 10,796 for ice hockey matches. The main building, which measures 29 meters from the ice surface to the hall ceiling, would fit the Munich Victory Gate. From the 2024/25 season, all Red Bull München home games will be played here. In addition, at least 20 FC Bayern Basketball home games and up to 40 sporting or sports-related events will be held here every year. An extensive agreement has been concluded with the City of Munich, which covers more than 8,000 hours of ice time.
The SAP Garden also includes three ice rinks that can be used all year round with a total ice surface of around 5,400 square meters, which are designed for both training and recreational sports and can be operated independently of the main building. In addition to ice hockey, Olympic sports such as figure skating, short track and curling can also be practiced here for training purposes. One of the three ice rinks has a capacity of 600 spectators, while the other two rinks can accommodate 200 people each. The entire building complex, including the main playing area, is part of Munich's world-famous and historic Olympic Park and has a gross floor area of more than 70,000 square meters, with a total usable area of an impressive 22,500 square meters.
"Exceptional stadium experience"
"We are proud that this project will start at the end of September with a very special kind of sports experience," says René Dimter, Managing Director of Red Bull Stadion München GmbH, the developer of SAP Gardens. "We can promise all future visitors an extraordinary stadium experience in one of the most modern sports arenas in Europe," Dimter continued.
