Bremerhaven near the top
Coach Thomas Popiesch's team has been in top form away from home in particular. Bremerhaven have won seven of their last eight away games. Only last Sunday at league leaders Straubing Tigers the Penguins were narrowly beaten (3:4 n. V.). If they had won the top game, they would be top of the table.
Latvian bulwark and Slovenian power
Bremerhaven are on 43 points. Fischtown have never had more points after 22 matchdays in the DEL. The Penguins have the third-best offense (73 goals) and the second-best defense (52 goals conceded) in the league. And this despite the fact that goalkeeper Maximilian Franzreb was injured in the first duel against our team. Because Kristers Gudlevskis is strong, the absence of Franzreb has no negative consequences.
The usual suspects shine in front of the opposing goal. Key player number one is still captain Jan Urbas. He leads the formation with his Slovenian compatriots Ziga Jeglic and Miha Verlic. In the internal scorer list, however, Urbas has to give way to Jeglic (25 points) and the offensively strong defender Phillip Bruggisser (21 points).
