The SAP Garden logo is mounted at a height of around 15 meters. One logo hangs on the east side above the main entrance, the other on the west side above the three underground ice rinks. With a height of 2.63 meters and a width of 12.28 meters, the two logos each weigh around 600 kilograms, including the mount.
"It feels like we're on the way to the delivery room at full throttle with our baby SAP Garden," says Oliver Wesp, Business Director Red Bull Stadion München GmbH, about the installation of the lettering.
How the SAP Garden got its name
But how did the new Munich landmark get its name? SAP secured the naming rights to the new multifunctional arena in September 2018. "It was important to us right from the start to involve the fans and the people of Munich in the project. That's why we launched a naming competition back then. We are now very proud that it has become the SAP Garden. It fits perfectly into the beautiful Olympic Park," explains Lars Lamadé, Head of Global Sponsorships SAP.
Following the submission phase, a jury consisting of representatives from EHC Red Bull Munich, FC Bayern Basketball, whose second venue will be the SAP Garden, and SAP selected three favorites. The name "SAP Garden", which was thrown into the ring by sports fan Manfred, prevailed. The green roof of the SAP Garden served as inspiration for Manfred.
