On Sunday, it's off to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers (14:00 | live on MagentaSport & on our blog). It will be a father-son duel. Both teams still need every point in the final sprint of the main round. The Red Bulls are right in the thick of the race for the top four in the table, while Nuremberg are desperate to secure tenth place and thus a place in the first play-off round.

While Munich won Friday's home game against ERC Ingolstadt 2:1 after overtime to record the 500th DEL victory in the club's history, the Ice Tigers lost 3:2 on penalties at Adler Mannheim.

Red Bulls want to go one better
The first three encounters against the Central Franconians this season have already been hard-fought. Toni Söderholm's team won twice at Oberwiesenfeld by 5:3 before Nuremberg managed to secure their first win at home in mid-January (2:1). Now the first away win in this encounter is on the cards.
A key player in Franconia has already extended his contract. The US American Charlie Gerard, who only moved to Nuremberg from North America last summer, has signed a new contract until 2026.
The attacker has scored 33 points so far, making him his team's top scorer. "Charlie is showing in his first season in the DEL that he has the quality to be a very productive player in our league," said sporting director Stefan Ustorf on the club website. Gerard has also scored against the Red Bulls this season.
Special duel in the house of Hede
Another quintet of youngsters in coach Tom Rowe's team is also doing really well. We are talking about Danjo Leonhardt (21), Tim Fleischer (23), Roman Kechter (20), Dennis Lobach (23) and Elis Hede (23).
Speaking of Hede: Since Pekka Kangasalusta (concussion) is still out, Niki Hede will once again be on the bench as assistant coach on Sunday. This means that Niki will face his son Elis. A very special constellation, but nothing will be given away in the father-son duel.
