"We can expect a top match"
"Cologne has upgraded a lot and we expect a very good team. But as defending champions, it is our claim to want to win every game. We are not afraid of Cologne," Veit Oswald approaches the game confidently.
Our new striker Markus Eisenschmid also wants to "give everything to win the game". In doing so, our number 11 expects a top game in which no one will give anything to the other. "We can definitely expect a top game," Eisenschmid promises, explaining, "Two top teams are meeting. Cologne has strengthened well and they have proven in recent years that they can play in the upper half of the table. They are not the only team with a clean slate for nothing."
Schütz back at Oberwiesenfeld
Friday will also see a reunion with an old acquaintance. Justin Schütz, who joined the Red Bulls organization at the age of 14 and was a key component of our championship team last year, has joined the Sharks this summer. The 23-year-old has had an impressive start to the young season, scoring a goal and two assists in the first two games of the season.
"I think everyone here will treat Justin with respect. He'll have to be prepared for a lot of spells, though. But it will certainly be a nice reunion," Oswald is looking forward to his ex-colleague.
