Leaders of the table as guests: Red Bulls welcome BremerhavenFamily match day against the Penguins// DEL - PRELIMINARY REPORTOn the 40th matchday of the PENNY DEL, EHC Red Bull München will receive a visit from the far north. On Sunday afternoon at 4:30 pm, we face the league leaders from Bremerhaven (live on MagentaSport & on our blog).
After a perfect start to the new year with three wins in a row, the last few games have gone anything but to plan from Munich's perspective. "We simply have to get out of the zone better and not let things get so bad at the back," summarized Maximilian Daubner after the derby in Augsburg (3:4). "We had recovered, but now we've dug ourselves a hole again. But we're positive that we'll get out of it," said our defender. Preferably already on Sunday against Bremerhaven!

The top game at the Penguins in pictures
The record against the current league leaders certainly reads well. The Red Bulls have won two out of three games this season (5:2, 2:1) and we were also able to score in the third duel after a close game (1:2 after a penalty shoot-out).
Family game day at Oberwiesenfeld
The game against the Penguins is all about the family. Meaning: You save money if you come to the Red Bulls with your family. For families with up to two adults and at least one child under the age of 14, a discounted price applies, as for all Sunday games starting in the afternoon. One ticket is required for each person aged 6 and over. The discount applies to each individual ticket. Get your tickets here.
2024 not yet at full speed
Coach Thomas Popiesch's team won eight games in a row in December. However, the Penguins were unable to take this strong run into the new year. Three wins in the 2024 calendar year are offset by three defeats, with Bremerhaven winning 2:1 at Adler Mannheim on Friday evening. Nevertheless, they remain top of the PENNY DEL table.
The team is a force to be reckoned with away from home in particular; only Berlin are even better on the road. They also have an extremely compact defense, which is currently the best in the DEL with just 87 goals conceded.
Top trio around Urbas, Jeglic and Conrad
The offense is once again led by two familiar faces. Jan Urbas and Ziga Jeglic once again stand out from the attack and are good for goals in every situation. In mid-December, coach Popiesch cut the infamous "Karawanken Express" around the Slovenian trio of Urbas, Jeglic and Miha Verlic.
In place of Verlic, Colt Conrad has been in the first forward formation in recent weeks. The Canadian only joined the team in mid-October, but found his feet in Germany straight away. The dangerous right winger has already scored in double figures. The aim is to stop this streak on Sunday.
