Off to the Rhineland: Red Bulls face DEG on SaturdayEhliz ahead of 700th DEL appearance// DEL - PRE-REPORTAfter the strong performance against Schwenningen, EHC Red Bull München travels to the Rhineland. The German champions want to go one better against Düsseldorfer EG on Saturday (20:00 | LIVE on MagentaSport and in our blog).
Our boys could hardly have made a better return from the international break. The Red Bulls beat Schwenningen 7-3 on Thursday night. "We were well prepared and absolutely deserved to win," said coach Toni Söderholm afterwards.

// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Thanks to the three-pointer, we have moved up to fifth place in the table and are also within one point of fourth place. Now we have to confirm our strong performance from the last game at DEG. Striker Yasin Ehliz is about to play his 700th DEL game.
Every point counts
Our opponents from Düsseldorf are fighting for a place in the pre-playoffs and currently have everything in their own hands in tenth place in the table. DEG have worked hard to achieve this position in recent weeks.
Only Berlin has been more successful over the past eight matchdays. However, coach Thomas Dolak and his players must also look in the rear-view mirror and make sure that the gap to the relegation zone does not get any smaller.
O'Donnell stands out
However, things are currently looking good for the Rhinelanders. Düsseldorf's upswing is closely linked to the name Brendan O'Donnell. The Canadian striker has carried the team through the season after a long injury break.

Since his comeback on November 17, O'Donnell has been one of the league's top scorers with 28 points in 27 appearances. The statistics show just how big the 31-year-old's influence is. With him, DEG scored an average of half a point more than without him.
Haukeland, Agostino and a new signing
Goalkeeper Henrik Haukeland is once again the great back-up this season (save percentage: 91.4 percent). If the Norwegian plays at his top level, DEG can defeat any opponent. The newly signed Adam Payerl (formerly of Augsburg) has fitted in brilliantly with five goals in eight games.
Kenny Agostino (37 points) leads the DEG scoring charts. With his late goal on Thursday in Ingolstadt (3:4 n. V.), he secured an important point for his team. The NHL-experienced forward was also successful in the last duel against our boys (3:1) - even scoring twice. The other goal was scored by O'Donnell.
