Next prestigious duel: Red Bulls want to go one better in CologneKastner: "Take everything from the Mannheim game"// DEL - PRELIMINARY REPORTAfter the resounding win against Mannheim at the start of the year, EHC Red Bull Munich continues with a game against the Cologne Sharks. Our boys will be looking to score another three points there on Friday (19:30 | LIVE on MagentaSport and in our blog).
But first we look back at our 6:1 win against Adler Mannheim. The Red Bulls played a great 60 minutes and set the course for victory with four goals in the middle period.
Highlights: Red Bull München vs. Adler Mannheim (02.01.2024)
// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
There were plenty of highlights - including Yasin Ehliz's 200th DEL goal. The German international is honest: "You do look at it. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested."
Offensive tactics work
Ehliz also spoke about a small tactical adjustment made by coach Toni Söderholm: "We wanted to be much more aggressive and not give our opponents any time. That's why we won back the glass earlier and created more chances." The plan worked perfectly and should also lead to a win in Cologne.
Kastner on the Haie: "Strong at the front, big at the back"
The Haie have scored one point less than us over the course of the season. At the start of the year, coach Uwe Krupp's team lost against bottom team Iserlohn (3:4 n. P.). The Haie have only won two of their last six games.

But the Red Bulls are not letting that blind them, as Maximilian Kastner assures: "Cologne have very strong players up front, but are also well positioned at the back with their big defenders. They are also dangerous in the powerplay."
MacLeod provides ingenuity, Šustr physicality
Gregor MacLeod is one of the top players in the Sharks' offense. With 33 points, the 25-year-old Canadian is one of the best DEL scorers this season. Justin Schütz, who leads the Sharks' scoring charts with 14 goals, is one of the players who benefits from the playmaker's eye.
One of the defensive edges mentioned by Kastner is Andrej Šustr. The Czech is 201 centimetres tall, making him the second tallest player in the league. New to the team is Patrick Sieloff. The physically strong American, who was already under contract with the Sharks for the 2021-22 season, was officially brought back on Wednesday. Nick Bailen will be sorely missed. Last season's best defender has been out since the beginning of December due to a knee injury.

Kastner hopes for a belated birth present
The two teams have met twice this season. Cologne won the first meeting at Oberwiesenfeld (5:2) before we responded with a 5:1 victory in the Lanxess Arena. This is no coincidence, as the visiting team has won seven of the last nine encounters.
A good omen for our boys? Kastner doesn't want to leave anything to chance: "We have to take everything from the Mannheim game to Cologne." If he succeeds, he can celebrate again two days after his 31st birthday.
