Austin Ortega and Markus Eisenschmid scored for coach Toni Söderholm's team in front of 14,200 spectators at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Course of the game
With their first attack, the Eisbären hit the crossbar (2nd), after which the fans saw an even match between two DEL heavyweights. Strong defenses - hardly any mistakes, few chances, no goals. Until the 10th minute, when Yannick Veilleux scored after a good forecheck to make it 1:0 for Berlin. The Polar Bears kept the pressure on with further good opportunities and increased through Zach Boychuk to the break score of 2:0 (19.).
Only the top start for the Red Bulls in the middle period: In a 5-on-3, Ortega reduced the score to 1:2 (23rd) with a placed shot into the crease. But then another setback for the champions. In a 4-on-4, Marcel Noebels immediately restored the two-goal gap in favor of the Berliners (24.). Six minutes later, the Polar Bears scored the next goal. Again back pass, again Veilleux - 4:1. The Munich defended themselves in the consequence, but with this result it went into the second break.
After surviving a shorthanded period at the start of the final period, the Red Bulls pressed vehemently for the second goal. Blaine Byron scored with a wrist shot into the short corner (53rd) and Boychuk scored again to increase the lead to 6:1 (56th). Eisenschmid set the final point at 2:6 (57.).
