The SAP Garden is sold out for the fifth time in a row and for the eleventh time this DEL season with 10,796 spectators, all tickets are already sold out. Two comebacks rewarded with three points

Our team was already in action on Thursday and brought home three hugely important derby points from Augsburg after a crazy 60 minutes and several lead changes. Munich twice turned around a deficit, the second comeback was synonymous with a 5:4 victory. Chris DeSousa caught a perfect moment 15 seconds before the end to complete his brace.

The cheers were huge, as was the relief. "Hats off to the team for the way they fought back after falling behind. In the end, we were deservedly rewarded with the goal," said coach Max Kaltenhauser afterwards. "In a way, we worked for it and deserved it," he praised his boys.

DEG surprises at home with wins against top teams

This momentum will now carry them into their home game against Düsseldorf. We still have fond memories of the last clash against DEG, as the Red Bulls celebrated their highest win of the season in mid-December with an 8:0 victory in the Rheinland. DeSousa and Taro Hirose scored four points each and Mathias Niederberger recorded his third shutout of the season.

In general, coach Steven Reinprecht's team is still struggling with a difficult season. Together with Augsburg and Iserlohn, the Red-Yellows are stuck deep in the cellar of the PENNY DEL. On Friday, however, they recorded a clear 7:2 victory in Frankfurt, their first success on foreign ice since November 15. Nevertheless, no other team in the league has scored fewer points away from home (twelve) than the Rheinländer.

The start to the new year got off to a promising start at home in the PSD Bank Dome. Düsseldorf won against the top teams Ingolstadt and Berlin and also scored against Straubing.

Gaudet with three goals against Frankfurt

DEG's most dangerous line-up is the one around top scorer Brendan O'Donnell (28 points), Alexander Ehl and Tyler Gaudet. The latter proved to be a real stroke of luck after his signing in mid-October, as the Canadian has already collected 21 points in 20 games. On Friday night, he scored right away.

Laurin Braun, who joined from Wolfsburg at the end of last year, scored his first goal in a Düsseldorf jersey in the game in Frankfurt.
