Two trophies, one in his left hand, the other in his right. Plus a broad grin on his face. Three things that are a credit to the past five and a half months. Ehliz has played the best main round of his entire career: 21 goals, 39 assists, 1.1 points per game. And that's exactly why there was no way around our striker.

"An award for the entire team"

"I was incredibly happy when I heard my name called and I feel really honored," said a visibly moved Ehliz. He added that the fact that the national player won the Striker and Player of the Year votes was also due to his teammates. "These awards are a tribute to our entire team, especially my strike partners Austin Ortega and Ben Smith. Without them, this would never have been possible," Ehliz said.

Ehliz received an incredible 44 percent of the votes in the "Player of the Year" poll. Carter Rowney (23%) and Dominik Bokk (18%), two players from promoted Löwen Frankfurt, also made it onto the podium. In the race for the title of "Forward of the Year", Ehliz also beat the forward duo from the city on the River Main.

An elite circle

The German international forward is the third professional in Red Bulls club history to win the "Player of the Year" award. The prestigious award last went to Danny aus den Birken in 2019 and Keith Aucoin the year before. But the spotlight these days belongs solely to our number 42.
