Four simple professional tips from fitness trainer Thomas Winkler
Tip 1 - Preparation: Before winding down the kilometers on Sunday, you should have already completed a few runs beforehand for the best possible result. Regenerative training runs up to two days before the World Run are ideal.
Tip 2 - Clothing: Suitable and comfortable running shoes are particularly important when completing longer distances. A look at the weather radar and appropriate warm or airy clothing can't hurt either.
Tip 3 - Nutrition: For sufficient energy, you should have a carbohydrate-rich dinner the day before.
Tip 4 - Stretching: After running, don't neglect stretching. This contributes to faster muscle regeneration and strengthens ligaments, tendons and connective tissue.
The Munich Flagship Run takes place in the Olympic Park and runs past the Olympic Ice Stadium and our new home, the SAP Garden - but is already sold out. If you want to register spontaneously and still do your bit, you can do as Koni Abeltshauser did at last year's Wings for Life World Run.
