Full focus is also needed against Wolfsburg to continue the current run of success. The chances of this are good, as our boys have had good experiences with the team from Lower Saxony recently. Both teams met once again in the playoffs last season, with Munich once again coming out on top. Coach Toni Söderholm's team advanced to the semi-finals with a smooth 4:0 sweep.
Wolfsburg strengthened in spots
The Grizzlies have collected six points from four games so far, with all points coming at home (4:0 against Düsseldorf, 4:3 against Iserlohn). Top scorer is striker Andy Miele with five points, including three goals. Phil Varone also got off to a strong start with two goals and four points. The Canadian, who moved to the Aller from Düsseldorf, is already finding his feet in his new surroundings. However, Nick Caamano, another offensive newcomer (Texas Stars, AHL), has yet to score.
Coach Mike Stewart was also pleased to welcome back another player. After two years and a championship title with the Eisbären Berlin, Julian Melchiori is now back defending for the Grizzlies. Overall, the squad has not undergone any major changes, but has been strengthened at certain points.
