A clear case: catching up from the middle third onwards
In the first match-up, our boys made up for a deficit after the first 20 minutes. The Red Bulls made it 3:1 in a very strong second period, with Maxi Kastner and Yasin Ehliz in overtime then securing the final score. "We defended well, stuck our noses in the dirt and scored the goals," praised coach Max Kaltenhauser after the game.
A look back
Both Munich and Ingolstadt picked up two points on the last matchday. On Friday evening, our boys managed a 2:1 away win after a penalty shootout at the home-strong Grizzlys Wolfsburg.

ERC Ingolstadt was already in action on Thursday. The Schanzers won 5:4 after overtime in Schwenningen and claimed their seventh win in a row. This means that coach Mark French's team is not only top of the table, but also the hottest team at the moment.
Problems with scoring goals have been solved
Daniel Schmölz has been particularly strong. The summer signing scored a hat-trick for the Wild Wings, and with twelve goals already, the 32-year-old is the most prolific German forward in the league.
In general, the Panthers' offense is running at full speed. 90 goals are the top figure, with Ingolstadt scoring 31 times in the last six games alone. The lack of effectiveness in front of the opponent's box last season has been more than corrected and has become a real strength. Austen Keating and Myles Powell are particularly responsible for this. The Canadian duo hit the ground running and scored regularly.

The derby against Ingolstadt in pictures
Breton the top defender in the league
Ingolstadt's defense is also very stable (except when outnumbered). But the defense not only defends, it also scores a lot of goals. No other team can boast 18 goals scored by defenders. Outstanding among them: Alex Breton. With 22 points (eleven goals, eleven assists), the sharpshooter is currently the best defenseman in the PENNY DEL in terms of points.
And the Canadian was also on hand in the first game against us. But apart from that, we didn't concede anything, also because Mathias Niederberger made several strong saves. We also need a compact team performance on Sunday to keep the points in the SAP Garden.
