Oswald and Heigl impress at the PENNY DEL Ice Hockey Grilling ChampionshipsRed Bulls top the table after victory against Nürnberg// NEWSAt the PENNY DEL Ice Hockey Barbecue Championship, Veit Oswald and Nikolaus Heigl showed that they are not just good with the stick and puck. The two youngsters also had the upper hand at the barbecue in the Bavarian duel against the Nuremberg Ice Tigers.Our two forwards have already proven that they are really good ice hockey players. And Oswald and Heigl also seem to feel right at home at the barbecue. Don't they? "I don't think cooking or barbecuing is our greatest skill. That's why there was a certain amount of nervousness," admitted Heigl before the start of the duel against the Nuremberg Ice Tigers as part of the PENNY DEL Grill Championship.
However, there was nothing to be seen, or rather tasted. After two courses, the Nuremberg duo of Niklas Treutle and Constantin Braun had to congratulate the Munich team on their victory. You can see what that looked like in the latest episode.

Trash talk at the barbecue too
The two Red Bulls strikers laid the foundation for this with the starter. This consisted of grilled cauliflower with pistachio vinaigrette and pizza wedges. And once the barbecue was up and running, Oswald and Heigl were also in full swing.
Even the verbal jibes from Nuremberg left the Munich team unimpressed. "Our opponents look so young that I don't think they've ever made their own muesli," said Ice Tigers goalie Treutle with a twinkle in his eye. Oswald countered: "When I look at how long it takes Constantin to make the onions, we've long since finished!" The Red Bulls then gave the next answer at the barbecue.
The jury, consisting of TV presenter Jana Wosnitza, TV chef Meta Hiltebrand and head referee Alexander Polaczek, saw our boys just ahead. Result: 23 to 22 in favour of the Red Bulls!
Red Bulls impress as a well-rehearsed duo
For the main course, stuffed potatoes with vegan cheese and mince, Oswald and Heigl shifted up a gear. "The difficulty with the potato was that you had to hollow it out enough so that it was cooked when it came out of the oven," said Oswald, explaining the recipe for success. But the well-rehearsed duo, who also live together in Munich, mastered this challenge with flying colours.

Top of the table after clear result
The Munich ice hackers continued to show off their grilling skills. The experts were delighted and awarded a whopping 28 points to the Red Bulls for the main course, with only 25 going to Nuremberg. Final score: 51 to 47 in favour of Munich. That also means the lead in the overall table.
In the end, our opponents also proved to be fair losers. "There was a certain amount of puppy protection, but they did really well. They deserved to win," said Treutle with a smile.
Ticket sales for eight home games underway
On the ice, Oswald and Heigl, together with their team-mates, want to go one better on 20 October. That's when the first showdown of the new season with the Nuremberg Ice Tigers will take place in the SAP Garden. Tickets are currently on sale for this game and seven other games in our new home.
