Ehliz: “We have to focus on ourselves”
Last Sunday in Bremerhaven (0:4), however, DeSousa and his Munich teammates came away empty-handed for the first time this season. Coach Max Kaltenhauser's conclusion: “I was satisfied with the way we played for long stretches, but of course we can't be happy with the result.”
The team is looking to turn in a better performance in Iserlohn, as EHC Red Bull Munich is looking to get back on the road to success. “We have to focus on ourselves and play well for the full 60 minutes,” demands forward Yasin Ehliz.
Roosters: From relegation candidates to playoff contenders
Our opponents recently beat the Augsburg Panthers 5-2 in the basement duel. After a weak start to the season, coach Doug Shedden has stabilized his team with just two points from seven games. The result: 15 points from the last ten games. The Roosters are still twelfth in the table, but if the upward trend continues, they may even dream of the playoffs again.
Roosters factors: Improved penalty-killing and hot sticks
One reason for the upturn is the improved penalty-killing. In figures: After conceding eight shorthanded goals in the first six games, the Roosters have conceded only half as many goals (four) in almost twice as many games (eleven).
On the offensive side, Shane Gersich has hit the ground running. The newcomer from the Swedish second division (Västeras) is one of the fastest players in the DEL season. He has already been clocked at 37.2 km/h. With 13 scorer points, he is also just behind club leader Michael Dal Colle (15 points) in the club's internal ranking.
