Main round exit for Ben Smith// CURRENTGerman ice hockey champions EHC Red Bull Munich will have to contest the important final phase of the DEL main round without their forward Ben Smith.

The 35-year-old has suffered a lower-body injury and will not be available to coach Toni Söderholm for at least the three remaining first-round games against Iserlohn, Berlin and Augsburg.

In addition to Smith, the Munich team will still be missing the two defensemen Adam Almquist and Dominik Bittner. Almquist suffered a lower-body injury in the game against Berlin on January 14 and is aiming to make his comeback by the playoffs at the latest. Bittner will not play another game for the Red Bulls this season due to an upper body injury.
