// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Gameplay
The Red Bulls with fast, creative field hockey and a lot of pressure on the goal of Cody Brenner. The Steelers goalie was lucky with Maximilian Daubner's shot against the post (4th), then he made a strong save against Chris DeSousa on Munich's first power play (6th). The team of Don Jackson dominant, but once inattentive. Robert Kneisler missed a great chance to score the first goal of the evening (13.). On the other side Smith did it better - the highly deserved lead for the leader (13.). Shortly before the first break, Tiffels added the 2:0 from an acute angle (19.).
Also in the middle period a game in one direction. The Red Bulls repeatedly got stuck in the Steelers' zone and put their opponents to the sword. Brenner was in constant action and made strong saves, but Munich failed to score in the second period despite its superiority.
In the 44th minute, the Steelers suddenly cheered after Chase Berger's tying goal. Bietigheim hoped, but Smith became the spoiler. The Red Bulls' assistant captain made it 3:1 (48th) and took the wind out of the sails of the bottom team. Munich left no stone unturned and made it clear in the 59th minute: Ortega scored an empty-net goal to make it 4:1, before Smith scored his third goal - Brenner was back in the box - to make it 5:1.
