Before the banner ceremony at the home game against Iserlohn (4.30 pm), we met the eternal number 13 for an in-depth interview.
Michi, you've only played for two clubs in the DEL over the course of your career - the Red Bulls and previously the Iserlohn Roosters. Looking back, do you regret not having had a few more stops?
Michael Wolf: "I can say with 100% conviction: I would do everything exactly the same again. I didn't miss out on anything. The move to Munich came at exactly the right time, I don't regret any decision I made in my career."

The interview with Michi Wolf in full length
How did your move to Munich come about after nine years in Iserlohn?
Wolf: "At the time, there was actually no question of me going to Munich. Then an ice hockey portal reported on a possible move. My phone then exploded. It was only after these rumors that I made my first contact and finally made the move - with the clear goal of becoming champion here."
Were you able to make friends with Munich straight away?
Wolf: "I felt at home straight away. Of course, when you come from Füssen or Iserlohn, you first have to get used to the traffic here. I haven't managed that yet. But I immediately felt at home in Munich ice hockey. With manager Christian Winkler, the coaching staff around Don Jackson and coach Markus Schreiber, who came to Munich from Iserlohn in the same year, I immediately found a great environment and a great team."

Wolf: "There were many great moments. But when it comes to this one: lifting the championship trophy in Wolfsburg for the first time was enormous. You've done so much for it over the years. That moment and that feeling will stay with you forever."
What do you think about your award on Sunday?
Wolf: "It makes me proud and shows me that I've done quite a lot right in my career. On the other hand, I'm also a bit glad when it's over (laughs)."
