Red Bulls without Bittner for DEL opener// NEWSEHC Red Bull München will be without defenseman Dominik Bittner for at least the first two DEL weekends. The 32-year-old suffered an upper body injury in training and is out for the time being.The Weilheim native will therefore miss the start of the new DEL season. Next Friday, the Red Bulls will host the Iserlohn Roosters (September 20 | 7:30 pm), followed two days later by a visit to Löwen Frankfurt (September 22 | 2:00 pm).
The right winger played a total of 36 league games (2 goals | 7 assists) and eight Champions League games (1 assist) for the four-time German champions last season before suffering an upper-body injury at the start of the year in a home game against Eisbären Berlin. The national player only returned to the ice at the beginning of August.
Parkes injured for several months
This means that head coach Toni Söderholm will initially be without two regular players. In addition to Bittner, the Munich team will be without Trevor Parkes, the most successful DEL goal scorer in the club's history, for several months due to a leg injury.
