DeSousa crowns comeback at the last second
The memories of the last game with the Panthers are still fresh. And we are only too happy to think back. The hosts were already leading 2:0 before Munich turned the tables in the second period. Augsburg then quickly went ahead again, but our boys showed great morale towards the end and were rewarded late on, almost with the final buzzer.
To summarize: Nine goals, several lead changes, two comebacks by the Red Bulls and the winning goal by Chris DeSousa 15 seconds before the end.
Defeat in Berlin
In order for such derby stories to be written in the coming season, the AEV must manage to stay in the league. Whether they will succeed is once again an open question. Just like Düsseldorf and Iserlohn, Augsburg are also worried about relegation.
However, there are justified hopes that coach Larry Mitchell's team can avoid the bottom of the table. The Panthers have won four out of seven games since the end of January, and even managed a 2:1 victory in Bremerhaven a few days ago. However, the away game at Eisbären Berlin on Friday was a clear 5-0 loss.
