München breaks the Mannheim spell in heated playoff duel: “It's fun when emotions boil up”.Voices and stats for the third quarter-final// PLAYOFFS - LATEST NEWSAfter a five-year dry spell, the Red Bulls have won again in Mannheim. Our 5-2 victory in game 3 was also the highlight of this highly emotional best-of-seven series. The boiling point seems not yet reached. The voices and stats.
Don Jackson (coach, EHC Red Bull München): “I want to congratulate my boys on this away win and Patrick Hager on becoming the top scorer in the history of the DEL playoffs. I've got no comment on the game.”
Patrick Hager (forward, EHC Red Bull München): “We played in a very structured and controlled manner and scored the goals at the right moments. A big compliment to my team. I want to play my part in the success. And if I can do that with my points, I'm happy about the record. But the most important thing is the away win. It's great fun when the emotions run high – the fans and we players love it.”
Quarter-final 3 | Highlights: Adler Mannheim vs. EHC Red Bull München (21/03/2025)
// PLAYOFF-HIGHLIGHTS
Dallas Eakins (Coach, Adler Mannheim): "Congratulations to Munich. I have the same respect for the press conference as Munich and don't want to say anything about the game." Leon Gawanke (defenceman, Adler Mannheim): "It was an extremely emotional game. But we have to put that behind us right away, focus on Sunday, win there and get back home ice. Munich scored with the very first shots, so we had to chase a deficit the whole time. We have to invest more to win." Markus Hännikäinen (forward, Adler Mannheim): "Munich scored out of nowhere. We have to look at how and why these goals were scored for Munich and not for us. That's the most important thing. We have to score goals, the first goal, take the lead. We're doing some things right, now we have to do everything we can to stop Munich scoring so often. We're a team, we stand up for each other and we'll overcome this situation as a team."
