The next acid test awaits in Berlin. "We want to strike back and need our best performance for that," the attacker makes clear.
Eisbären face early summer break
The champion of the past two seasons needs one thing above all: points. Twelve matchdays before the end of the main round the capitals as table thirteenth still fight for rank ten, which would be enough at least for the 1. playoff round. The gap is still a whopping seven points.
It looked as if the team of coach Serge Aubin would finally find into the track. Berlin won five games in a row before the race to catch up was interrupted again with two recent defeats.
Concentrated offensive power on paper
Both at home in the Mercedes-Benz Arena and away, the Eisbären can't get any consistency in their game. At least they can rely on their own power play - 28.6 percent success rate is the second best value in the league!
There is no doubt about the high quality of the squad anyway. Forward Marcel Noebels delivers as usual with 47 scorer points (15 goals, 32 assists). Leo Pföderl has rediscovered his scoring touch with seven goals in the last seven games, and Giovanni Fiore has also hit the mark 19 times.
With a brace, the Berlin top scorer brought his team back in the last meeting with the Red Bulls. The aim is to avoid that on Friday.
